Amit Shah laid Foundation Stone of ‘Balidan Stambh’ in Srinagar

During his two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, inaugurated the construction of the ‘Balidan Stambh’ at Pratap Park in Srinagar. This memorial stands as a lasting symbol of bravery. Furthermore, he met with the families of the Jammu and Kashmir Police martyrs and presented them with appointment letters as a gesture of honor and solidarity.

• The ‘Balidaan Stambh’ project, which is a part of the Srinagar Smart City initiative, serves as a tribute to the courageous martyrs who made supreme sacrifices for the nation.
• This memorial aims to inspire patriotism among the youth and immortalize the memory of these brave individuals.
• During the inauguration, several dignitaries were present, including Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi, Union Home Secretary, and Secretary of the Ministry of Culture. Their presence added significance to the occasion and underscored the importance of honoring and remembering the sacrifices of our martyrs.
• As part of his visit, Amit Shah made a special visit to Karan Mahal, the former residence of Karan Singh, the last Yuvraj of Jammu and Kashmir.
• He also had the opportunity to meet a select group of individuals at the Police Golf Course, which provides a picturesque view of Dal Lake, before heading back to Delhi.
• During his visit, Shah also laid the foundation stone for the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) and distributed Golden Health cards to beneficiaries.
• Additionally, he met with the family members of the victims of the Rajouri terror attack, offering his condolences and support.
