She is currently the Senior News Editor of The New Indian Express in Bhubaneswar, where she previously worked as the Features Editor for 19 years. Ray thereafter moved on to the fast-paced and dynamic world of digital media, where he spent over three years as a Senior Editor for Odisha Television Limited’s English internet platform.

Ray, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, has had his writing published in a variety of publications, including Firstpost, The Quint, Women’s Features Service, and The Asian Age. Her interest in development journalism led to a SAWM-UNICEF fellowship. Ray is currently pursuing a doctorate in English literature at Bhubaneswar’s Utkal University, with an emphasis on the role of journalists as life narrators.
