What is the full form of the STARS Program?

The full form of the STARS program is “Strengthening Teaching-Learning and Results for States.” The program is implemented by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in collaboration with the World Bank. It was approved by the Cabinet in October 2020 and became effective in 2021. The program is designed to run for a duration of five years until FY 2024-25. The primary objective of the STARS program is to provide support and assistance to states in strengthening the school education system, enhancing teaching and learning processes, and improving educational outcomes. The STARS program is aligned with the objectives and principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Which States are part of the STARS World Bank?

The STARS program is a centrally sponsored scheme initiated by the Government of India with the aim of improving the quality of education and learning outcomes in select states. The STARS program is implemented in six states of India, namely Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Kerala.
