Once completed, the monument will proudly stand at a height of 30 meters and occupy an area spanning 8,551 square meters. It will feature a pen pedestal, a lattice bridge extending over the beach, and a land and pedestrian pathway that stretches out onto the sea. The bridge itself will be 7 meters wide, with a length of 290 meters over land and 360 meters over the sea. To ensure the successful execution of the project, Chennai-based Hubert Enviro Care Systems has been entrusted with the responsibility of serving as the infrastructure and environmental consultant.
Conditions Set by the Environment Ministry: Protecting the Ecosystem
In granting the CRZ clearance, the Environment Ministry has outlined a comprehensive set of 15 conditions that must be strictly adhered to throughout the construction and maintenance of the Kalaignar Pen Monument.
