The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has introduced a new initiative by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) called the ‘Knowledge Sharing’ platform. This platform, available on the NHAI website, aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and innovative best practices. It will enable the NHAI to collaborate with experts and citizens interested in sharing their insights and expertise on various topics including road design, construction, road safety, environmental sustainability, and related fields. By encouraging the sharing of global best practices, this platform will contribute to the overall development of the National Highway infrastructure in the country.

- To facilitate the sharing of best practices, the NHAI has provided a dedicated web portal, https://ksp.nhai.org/kb/, where users can upload their valuable information in the form of video clips, PowerPoint presentations, and PDF files. NHAI officials will review the uploaded content and assess its suitability for implementation.
- NHAI is committed to leveraging innovation and modern technology to accelerate the development of the National Highway infrastructure. In addition to utilizing recycled materials like fly ash and plastic waste, the organization is actively promoting the use of Recycled Asphalt (RAP) and Recycled Aggregates (RA) in highway construction to encourage sustainable and eco-friendly practices.

About NHAI
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is a statutory body under the administrative control of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India. It was constituted by an Act of Parliament in 1988 to take over the development and maintenance of the National Highway system from the Central Government. NHAI became operational in February 1995.

- Providing consultancy services in the field of road infrastructure
NHAI has been responsible for the development of a vast network of National Highways in India. As of March 2023, it has a total road length of over 92,851 km. NHAI is also responsible for the implementation of the Bharatmala Pariyojana, a major road infrastructure project that aims to develop 34,800 km of National Highways in India.
NHAI is a major contributor to the Indian economy. It provides employment to over 1 million people and generates revenue of over ₹1 trillion annually. NHAI has also played a significant role in improving the connectivity and mobility in India.
