The main objective is to set up prisons as Reform Homes or Sudhaar Griha

The chief minister instructed officials to create a formal plan for an open jail in the state. “Our State Cabinet has recently given the green light to a new set of guidelines for our jails. This is a significant step towards improving our prison system. We should strive to transform our prisons into effective centers for rehabilitation. To achieve this goal, the establishment of an ‘Open Jail’ can be advantageous. At present, there is a semi-open jail functioning in Lucknow.”
