The Ministry of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship signed 106 special agreements with respected organizations and institutions. This happened during the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2023 and the 3rd anniversary of the National Education Policy. These agreements involve working together with both government and private groups to encourage new ideas, research, and sharing of knowledge in various fields. About Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, which was a joint effort by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. The event marked the celebration of the 3rd anniversary of the National Education Policy 2020. During the event, he also released the first installment of funds under the PM SHRI Scheme. This initial installment amounted to ₹630 crore and was given to 6207 schools. Additionally, the Prime Minister released education and skill curriculum books translated into 12 Indian languages, further promoting education accessibility and inclusivity.
School Education and Literacy
- Under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), 15 Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with different Institutes and Sector Skill Providers.
- These partnerships aim to focus on skill development and education, while also promoting skill assessment and capacity building.
- The MoUs were signed in collaboration with renowned organizations such as Atal Innovation Mission, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, and various Sector Skill Councils, among others.
- For the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), 3 MoUs were signed. One with the Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre (ISLRTC) to promote Indian Sign Language, another with Common Service Centres (CSC) to facilitate admission and e-services for Out of School Children (OoSC), and the third with The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University for academic advancements.
- Additionally, an MoU between Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) and IBM was signed to support the Vigyan Jyoti Program in JNVs.
- Furthermore, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) signed 20 MoUs under the eVidya initiative with the Departments of School Education of several states. These MoUs are aimed at developing quality eContent and disseminating it through PMeVIDYA DTH TV channels in different languages for various stakeholders.
Higher Education
- In the field of higher education, several Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) were established to promote the Indian Knowledge System.
- Additionally, 14 MoUs were signed under the National Educational Technology Forum (NETF) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in partnership with various organizations, including Google India, Microsoft, and Electronics Sector Skill Council, among others.
- Furthermore, international collaborations were strengthened through 6 MoUs, including the establishment of the IIT-Madras Zanzibar campus.
- Several institutes, such as IIT Tirupati and IIFCET, IIT Jodhpur and CU/Raj, and VNIT Nagpur and TCS, signed MoUs for academic collaboration, research, and skill development in different areas.
- The UGC also signed 5 MoUs with universities from different countries, including the University of Illinois, Saint Louis University, and L N Gumilyov Eurasian National University, among others. These MoUs aim to enhance academic cooperation and research exchange between the universities.
- Additionally, the PM-USHA initiative resulted in 15 MoUs with various states, fostering partnerships for educational advancement. Moreover, an MoU was signed between DHE and BISAG-N for collaboration in the education sector.
Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship
- A total of 14 MoUs were signed, focusing on strengthening various aspects of education and skill development in India.
- These MoUs include partnerships between DGT and AWS India Pvt. Ltd, as well as ETS India Pvt Ltd.
- NIESBUD also established collaborations with the TIDES-business incubator of IIT Roorkee, the EIC business incubator of IIML, and the DeAsra Foundation.
- Additionally, IIE signed an MoU with IIT Guwahati, and NSDC partnered with Pearson VUE, CISCO, Ajinorah, Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, IndusInd Bank, Yamaha Automobile, EPowerX Learning Technologies Pvt Ltd, and Drone Destination.
- These collaborations reflect the government’s strong commitment to empowering the youth with advanced skills and knowledge, fostering innovation, and promoting academic excellence across the country.
