The Ministry of Science & Technology announced that India and Israel have signed an MoU on industrial research and development collaboration, representing a significant milestone in their technological and scientific partnership.

The collaboration seeks to facilitate joint industrial research and development projects in various high-tech fields such as artificial intelligence, sustainable energy, quantum and semiconductors, healthcare, aerospace, agriculture, and synthetic biology, among others. Both parties will carry out the MoU via specific projects agreed upon and supervised by a Joint Steering Committee led by the heads of CSIR and DDR&D.

The agreement was signed by N Kalaiselvi, DG, CSIR and Secretary, DSIR, and Daniel Gold, Head, DDR&D, during a meeting attended by the Minister of State (IC), Ministry of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, GoI, and Vice President, CSIR Society, Jitendra Singh.

In the meeting, both parties discussed and welcomed specific collaborations on hydrogen and aerospace between CSIR and DDR&D, as well as a joint clinical trial project between CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology and 101 Therapeutics for a potential COVID-19 drug.

The event also highlighted the successful diplomatic ties between the two countries, which have expanded into a strategic partnership. Jitendra Singh praised India’s expertise in the priority sectors identified and applauded the technological collaboration with Israel, congratulating both sides for their efforts to strengthen the India-Israel relationship.
