The Personnel Ministry has announced the launch of a new collection of courses called “Dakshta” on the iGOT Karmayogi Platform. This initiative aims to develop the attitude, knowledge, and skills of government officials for holistic transformation in administration. The mission, known as Karmayogi Bharat, is led by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and plays a crucial role in building a smart, citizen-friendly, and future-ready public workforce.
- Establishment of Karmayogi Bharat
The DoPT has established Karmayogi Bharat, a government-owned not-for-profit special purpose vehicle, to oversee the mission’s fundamental goals. This entity is responsible for owning, managing, maintaining, and enhancing the iGOT Karmayogi platform, which serves as the primary platform for capacity-building initiatives.
- Mission Karmayogi for Civil Services Capacity Building
Mission Karmayogi, also known as the National programme for civil services capacity building, aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a “Viksit Bharat.” This program focuses on nurturing a skilled and efficient public workforce that can meet the demands of the future.
The “Dakshta” collection is a comprehensive guide for government officials seeking to enhance their capacity-building skills. It consists of 18 courses that are specifically designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective performance in their roles.
iGOT Karmayogi Courses
The courses cover a wide range of topics, including data-driven decision making, office procedures, effective communication, public policy research, and stress management. Esteemed institutions such as Wadhwani Foundation, Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM), Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B), Microsoft, and others provide these courses.
Current Training Participants
Currently, 40 young professionals and consultants from the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) are undergoing phased induction training through the curated collection of courses offered by Dakshta. This training aims to enhance their skills and capabilities to better serve the nation.
The launch of the “Dakshta” collection on the iGOT Karmayogi platform demonstrates the government’s commitment to building a skilled and competent public workforce. By providing comprehensive courses and training opportunities, the government aims to foster a workforce that is equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to the nation’s development.
